The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia maintains a register of members according to the requirements of its Bylaws and the Health Professions Act.  The registry includes members in the following status:

  • Active Practicing - members authorized to practice
  • Active Non-Practicing - members not authorized to practice

Members are entitled to use one of four reserved titles and are authorized to practice according to the descriptions below (based on BC legislation):

  • Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) - a registrant authorized to practise acupuncture.
  • Registered TCM Herbalist (R.TCM.H.) - a registrant authorized to prescribe, compound or dispense Chinese herbal medicine.
  • Registered TCM Practitioner (R.TCM.P.) - a registrant authorized to practise acupuncture; prescribe, compound or dispense Chinese herbal medicine.
  • Registered Doctor of TCM (Dr. TCM) - a registrant authorized to practise acupuncture; prescribe, compound or dispense Chinese herbal medicine. This registrant has met training/examination requirements at a higher level than registrants with the other titles.
For members identified with the following remarks:
  • Limited - limitations are imposed on registrant's practice. Please contact the College for details.
  • Conditional - conditions are imposed on registrant's practice. Please refer to the Public Notification posting for details.
The registration number is 5 or 6 numbers in numerical digits (ie. 01234). Please do not use any alphabetical letters if you have a registration number of 7 or 8 digits (ie. FA01234); instead, only use the 5 or 6 numerical digits (ie. 01234).
